Loki’s Afterlife: Could He Be in Valhalla With Heimdall and Jane?

Loki’s sacrifice in Infinity War sparks theory he joins Heimdall in Valhalla after death.

When Loki was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, many fans believed that was the definitive end for the God of Mischief. But with the introduction of Valhalla in the MCU — the Asgardian afterlife for fallen warriors — a new theory has emerged. Could the Loki who died at the hands of the Mad Titan now be residing in Valhalla alongside Heimdall and Jane Foster?

What Is Valhalla in the MCU?

In Thor: Love and Thunder, Valhalla was officially shown when Jane Foster, after sacrificing herself in battle against Gorr the God Butcher, arrived there and was greeted by Heimdall. This confirmed that Valhalla exists in the MCU, serving as an eternal resting place for noble warriors who die honorably.

Did Loki Qualify for Valhalla?

The conditions for entering Valhalla are clear: one must die in battle, fighting bravely. Loki’s death in Infinity War arguably fits this description. Despite his history of deception, Loki faced Thanos head-on, attempting to save Thor and even trying to strike Thanos with a dagger. His sacrifice was noble, selfless, and undeniably in the spirit of a warrior’s death.

Heimdall, Jane, and the Possibility of Loki’s Presence

We know Heimdall, who was killed by Thanos in the same film, is in Valhalla. Jane’s arrival there in Love and Thunder further proves that Asgardians (and even mortals like Jane who fight as warriors) can earn a place in this afterlife. If Heimdall and Jane are there, it’s not far-fetched to imagine that Loki could also be among them.

What This Could Mean for the MCU

Even though the Loki we follow now is a Variant from Avengers: Endgame, the “original Loki” who died in Infinity War might still have a role to play from beyond. Marvel has been leaning heavily into the multiverse and afterlife concepts, so a potential scene in Valhalla with Loki, Heimdall, and Jane is not outside the realm of possibility. It could serve as both a touching reunion and a narrative bridge in future Thor or multiverse-related projects.

Loki’s sacrifice in Infinity War wasn’t just a tragic end; it may have been his ticket into Valhalla, placing him alongside his fellow Asgardians. While Marvel hasn’t confirmed this, the theory adds depth to Loki’s redemption arc and leaves the door open for his presence in future stories — even from the halls of the honored dead.
